Have you ever noticed the rampant sexism that you see in sports?
Last month during the Olympics it was especially noticeable. Interestingly, it was most noticeable to me during the volleyball games. Especially beach volleyball. Now beach volleyball is rather infamous for bikinis, bare chests, beer and boisterous crowds and music. Interestingly, the men in the Olympic competition wore shirts. I have not been able to find out why, perhaps some of our listeners know, and will be able to let us know through the comments at the WD site. But, the women wore the same skimpy bikinis that are the norm on the professional circuit. (more…)
