Watchman Digest, Episode 17

Watchman Digest

Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia, O-O-Obama

Hosts: Stan Cox and Larry Fain

In this episode Stan and Larry discuss the economic stimulus bill presently before Congress, and the change in policy Obama has passed regarding monetary support of family planning organizations in foreign countries, that either perform abortions, or give out information on abortion services.  Also, the gift that keeps on giving, a “Chia pet” bust of Barack Obama.  Larry immediately put it on next year’s Christmas list!

Show Notes:

  • Ecomony. They call it a “Stimulus package” but Larry and Stan are not convinced.  It is big government spending, and typical of liberal Democrats.  And who will pay?  You and me!

  • Abortion. “President Barack Obama on Friday struck down the Bush administration‘s ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information…” Obama claims we are reaching a point where divisive politics are at an end, and says he is tired of “this stale and fruitless debate.”  It sounds like he is telling us that we are going to do it his way, and that it is settled.  Oh, so that’s how you do things in a “bipartisan” way.
  • Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia – O-O-Obama. The gift that keeps on giving, a Barack Obama chia pet!
  • Stan’s Weekly Rant: Homosexual Lies and Distortions. Stan explains and describes the various lies and distorations that Homosexual activists have told again and again to further their cause in the last several decades.  With Obama in power with a Democrat congress, expect them to put their agenda on the fast track. • Stan’s Website Review: The website Stan reviews this week is called: portableapps.com. If you have a thumb drive, you can put an entire suite of applications on it and take your computer anywhere you go.  Any PC becomes your computer, and when you unplug your thumb drive, you leave no private data behind!  This is impressive.
  • Larry’s Bible Verse: Larry comments on Romans 13.  He points out that the Bible teaches that though we may disagree with governmental policy, (for example, resenting the fact that the government is wasting our money with this ridiculous stimulus spending bill), that we nevertheless are obligated to obey the law and pay our taxes.

Larry, I thought the same thing as you, and I didn’t even turn it on this year…and it was one of the closest games ever.
